Solar Power That’s Battery-Ready

Our most popular solution is to install a home solar system that is still connected to the grid for nighttime power use. You save by operating large appliances during daylight hours. Excess power that you generate during the day is metered as it goes into the grid to offset your electricity bills. You can add a battery later when they are more affordable.

Solar Power with Battery Back-Up For Essential Power.

For many people living in rural WA & even Bunbury & the Southwest areas, occasional blackouts and power reliability is constant problem. We can install a home solar power system that is also connected to the grid, but we add minimal battery storage to keep essential items powered whenever there is a power failure. For example, the batteries would keep the fridge going, your computer and a few essential lights.

Solar and Battery, All in One Unit.

We offer a ‘single box’ hybrid solution for anyone wanting greater independence from the power company. Your home solar panels send peak power during the day to a high-quality lithium battery to store. This system gives you a solid and reliable power supply when the grid fails. No more blackouts.

Residential Solar FAQ’s

  • If you live within a town and not in a rural area, standard residential systems generally take 24 hours to receive approvals.

If you live in a rural area, are Dual Phase, adding a battery system or exceeding 5Kva your application may take up to 15 Business days from submission. If Western Power require a zone diagram (if you are a strata, business ext) you may fall into technical review which takes longer than 15 Business days.

We will keep you updated with the progression of your application as we receive notification, and give you an intended installation date with the 15 Business days factored in. Unfortunately there is no way for Sunwise to speed up the process with Western Power.

  • At Sunwise, we pride ourselves in installing systems catered for you. We conduct site visits within the quoting process to ensure that your property has been scoped out and all possible works have been catered for. We also prefer to have an in depth discussion with you so that we can work out what system and size best suits you.

The last thing that we want is for there to be additional fees at the time of install and having a system you do not want.

If you would like a site visit please do not hesitate to contact our office staff and we will schedule you in at the next availability!

  • Emergency solar management (also known as ESM, Distributed Photovoltaic Management or DPV management) refers to the management of rooftop solar systems. Put simply, ESM is the ability to turn down or turn off the capability of rooftop solar systems to generate solar energy remotely.

Presently inverters are not technically able to be turned down via remote management and so if ESM measures are required, rooftop solar systems will only be able to be turned off. In the future, technology may also allow inverters to be turned down.

API cloud solution The API cloud solution uses software integration such as an API (Application Programming Interface) – to remotely manage solar systems. In the required circumstances, the API will send an instruction to the inverter to be switched off and back on.

For more details, please refer to Synergy’s residential solar installation requirements.

AMI metering solution uses Advanced Metering Infrastructure, commonly known as AMI, to remotely manage an inverter. The AMI meter receives instructions through Western Power’s secure communications network to remotely manage the circuit to which the inverter is connected. The metering solution should only be selected where API cloud solution is not suitable or available. When selecting the metering solution, new wiring and components will need to be installed, this means you will see an additional cost on your solar quote for this.

Sunwise only recommends AMI connection where wifi is not readily available

  • This will be discussed at the time of your site assessment with our Solar Designers. It is preferred that we install the inverter in your garage as it is close to your meter box and out of the weather. If you would prefer your inverter in a different location, please bring this up at the time of the assessment - or with our friendly Electricians on the day of installation.
